Technology should Enable, Empower and Transform The Way You Work.
We recognize the importance of contributions to open source communities and endeavour to give back to the projects that we have benefited by through fixes, enhancements, bug reporting and financial contributions. If you are a member of any of these projects, please accept our heartfelt thanks and appreciation for the work that you do.
Here are a few of the thriving technologies projects and communities that we believe in.
Google's Android is an open-source software stack for mobile devices that includes an operating system, middleware and key applications. Implementations of Android can be found on a multitude of smartphones and tablets from different vendors. Android is available on high-end consumer products to low-cost devices that are ideal for mobile data collection initiatives.
Radical Dynamic brings enhanced data collection capabilities to the Android platform through Group Complete.
Apache CouchDB is a powerful document-based storage engine based on a superb distributed architecture with unparallelled replication capabilities. We are proud to support the CouchDB community and can't stop ranting about how great the fine folks at Couchbase are. We've contributed to the Apache CouchDB project by working with Couchbase staff and community members to provide an updated port of CouchDB to Android.
CouchDB is one of the foundational technologies behind the mobile data collection software Group Complete.
Open Data Kit (ODK) is an open source suite of tools that enables data collection on mobile phones and transfer of collected data to a central server where data can be managed and exported.
ODK streamlines data collection in the field by replacing traditional paper survey, camera, audio recorder, and GPS unit with a mobile phone and a web based server.
ODK is a part of the OpenMobile Consortium and the OpenRosa Consortium and is one of the foundational technologies behind the mobile data collection software Group Complete. Radical Dynamic has contributed technical assistance and financial resources to the ODK Collect project.
JavaRosa is the result of an industry driven movement to consolidate development efforts and produce a platform to collect and aggregate field data quickly, accurately, and securely. Using Java Mobile Edition (J2ME), JavaRosa runs on any Java enabled device and employs the XForms standard for defining and storing data. JavaRosa has been field tested in many countries around the world and boasts a vibrant and supportive community.
JavaRosa is integral to Open Data Kit where the XForms engine is used to define interactive forms and store collected data. Radical Dynamic has contributed to the JavaRosa project and participated in the OpenRosa Working Group.
